A female news presenter died and in the post mortem feature her fellow journalist (a male) amongst her other attributes mentioned her “cool blond looks”……and on the list of attributes this one was in the top three……I couldn’t believe my ears! We have nearly finished the first decade of the 21st century!!!!

Lately, I’ve been terribly busy at work hardly listening or watching the news….so whether I have just fell into a time warp or evolved, but radio 4 has changed for worse.

And this hick-up doesn’t end with the news item…….

Clive Anderson’s show was on straight after…..his guest were Greta Scachi and a Jamaican poet ……Greta was less intersting than the washed out sea weed on the dull shores of north Wales (on a grim winter day), while the poet showed so much more potential – it could have made compelling listening! – but Clive sounded bored out of his witts! But why?! This is…..was… the top notch UK radio channel – what’s happening?!

Maybe, I am out of date…..maybe the great naratives are back in fashion……that would be truly bad news, although still not as bad as that omage to the dead female BBC presenter.
